AdBlue
Selective catalytic reduction solution for diesel vehicles
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is an aqueous solution composed of 32.5% urea and 67.5% demineralized water.
What is it used for?
AdBlue is used by vehicles equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology such as trucks, buses, or garbage trucks. Its use allows the transformation 85% of pollutants (nitrogen oxides, called NOx) into water vapor and harmless nitrogen.
How does it work?
SCR technology converts nitrogen oxides into water vapor and harmless nitrogen using AdBlue.
Who is it for?
All new vehicles built from October 2006 are equipped with a catalytic reduction system that uses AdBlue.
How to use AdBlue?
AdBlue is a simple and safe product to use, but there are rules to follow because it is used with an SCR catalyst that is very sensitive to impurities.
Important: For your vehicle to function properly, it is essential not to add anything to your AdBlue (not even water), as this could damage the SCR system of your catalyst.
